Hi Folks,
The upcoming Rumpus 7 release has a couple of fundamental changes,
including native support for SSL (without the need for Stunnel).
Benefits include better client tracking, simpler setup and management,
and support for FTP with TLS, which is the preferred method of secure
FTP. (FTP with Implicit SSL is still supported, too.)
A test server has been set up, at "testrumpus.dyndns.tv". Three
accounts are available: "moe" (password: "moe"), "larry" (password:
"larry") and "curly" (password: "curly").
If you are interested in checking out the improved FTPS support, feel
free to log in and poke around.
Login via HTTP is also allowed, and the Web interface includes 2
notable changes. In Safari, the progress indicator now works
correctly, without the pop-up window (Yay!). And in FireFox 3.6, you
can drag and drop files from your desktop right into the directory
listing, without having to use the "Upload Files" dialog.
Please report any problems, including browser incompatibilities, to
the list or directly to me at "support at maxum.com".
John
