Rumpus 6.2 Beta 1 is now available as a private download for members
of the Rumpus-Talk mailing list only.

Unlike the last couple of major Rumpus updates, this version does not
include significant revisions to the basic server engine or existing
functionality. Also, the new features included in this version have
been fairly extensively tested and documented.

In other words, if you install this version, it should not mess up any
existing server operation, and even the new features are ready for
prime time, I believe. The usual caveat about running pre-release
software in production environments applies as always, but I believe
this version is very solid. If one or more of the new features are
appealing to you, it just might be worth trying this Beta, even on a
production server.

If you download and install the Beta, *please let me know*. I would
really appreciate a note telling me which of the new features you
like, what works, and what doesn't. Seriously... Drop a note to "support at maxum.com
".

IMPORTANT! If your Rumpus serial number is "RP-80-XXX" or "RR-80-XXX"
or below, this version will come up as "expired". If your Rumpus
license is older and you would like to test this version, open the
Install Server window and enter a Serial Number of "RD-000-082" with
the Validation Code "69327". This will allow you to run Rumpus 6.2
until November 30.

John

PS - All of the features mentioned yesterday are included in this
build and are documented (mainly in the Help pages and the "Web File
Manager" and "Event Notices" articles in the "Helpful Info" folder).
The new features include:

   Growl Notifications

   iPhone Optimized Web Interface

   New Web Appearance Options

   Automatic Drop Shipping

   Guest Uploads By Request
